The Clearwater Recreation Commission offers a series of sports activities for ages 3 -12. Youth participating in recreational sports will learn the basic skills of their chosen sport and play. Sports offered include:
The registration fee for recreational sports is a low cost so every child can participate. To register for any recreation program, sign up online or register in-person in the library.
3 - 6 year-olds

A T-ball program to teach preschoolers ages 3 & 4 social skills along with mechanical skills.
Participants will learn how to hit off a tee and run to a base that honks. Each game will consist of three innings. Volunteer team leaders are needed, no additional practices!

Work on your skills before the season starts!
This program will focus on fundamental training and concentrate on individual skills. We will teach each player the basics of passing, setting, serving, and hitting. We will break down the game of volleyball so your young athlete will have fun and gain knowledge of the game.

Clearwater Summer Baseball and Softball is affiliated with USSSA. The regular season will be May 13 through June 28.
Sign-ups will be available February through March 7 , 2024.
Registration forms will be sent home with each student in Kindergarten through 6th grade or can be accessed with this link. Return registration forms to the Clearwater Recreation Office.

Team selection policy: (approved by Recreation Commission Board Members on August 10, 2011)
Please note: Recreation Director will divide teams for T-Ball with requests being honored as much as possible.
How teams are decided: For ages 7 and up, each Head Coach will be allowed their child(s) and one other player. Coaches work together to create equal teams using remaining players, not knowing which team they will be given. Once teams are established, coaches are given a team roster. If there are late sign-ups, coaches must meet again to divide remaining players. Requests will only be granted if coaches agree to switch players once team rosters have been established, switching players will only be allowed at the coaches' meeting.
